How can I statically modify the PMA settings for the Arria® V PCI Express PHY IP cores?

    Description

    To statically modify the PMA settings for the Arria® V PHY IP Core for PCI® Express (PIPE) and Hard IP for PCI Express, you may use the following Quartus® Setting File (QSF) assignments:

    set_instance_assignment -name XCVR_TX_VOD_PRE_EMP_CTRL_SRC RAM_CTL -to <transmitter port>
    set_instance_assignment -name XCVR_TX_VOD <value> -to <transmitter port>
    set_instance_assignment -name XCVR_TX_PRE_EMP_1ST_POST_TAP <value> -to <transmitter port>
    set_instance_assignment -name XCVR_TX_PRE_EMP_PRE_TAP <value> -to <transmitter port>
    set_instance_assignment -name XCVR_TX_PRE_EMP_2ND_POST_TAP <value> -to <transmitter port>

     

     

    Resolution

    Note that Arria® V GX, SX, GT, and ST devices support only one pre-emphasis tap, which is the first post-tap
