Why do I get warnings for termination_blk0~_rup_pad and temination_blk0~_rdn_pad in HardCopy Design Readiness Check report?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus II software version 11.0 SP1 and earlier, designs targeting HardCopy® III and HardCopy IV devices will get the following warnings for the termination_blk0_~rup_pad and temination_blk0_~rdn_pad pins in the HardCopy Design Readiness Check report:

  • Missing Termination Assignment
  • Missing I/O Standard Assignment

When OUTPUT_TERMINATION and INPUT_TERMINATION assignments exist  in the design but an OCT block is not explicitly instantiated and connected to I/O pins, the Quartus II Fitter automatically creates an OCT block and creates these pins.  Even if you set I/O Standard and Input Termination assignments to these pins, the Fitter ignores these assignments because it evaluates these assignments before it creates the pins.

These warnings may safely be ignored.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of Quartus II software.
