Description

Steps to create an on-board RAID in the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) for the MegaRAID Human Interface Infrastructure (HII) configuration utility

Resolution
  1. Go to the Advanced menu and select Mass Storage Controller Configuration.
  2. Select SATA Port Configuration.
  3. Change the AHCI Capable SATA Controller from the AHCI (default) option to RAID Mode.
  4. In the AHCI Capable RAID Options, select the RAID solution (either RSTe or ESRT2).
  5. Press the Escape key until get back to the Main menu, and then select the Boot Maintenance Manager.
  6. Go to the Advanced Boot Options.
  7. In the Boot Mode menu, select the Legacy option and press Enter to change it UEFI.
  8. Press F10 and save the changes. The system then reboots.
  9. Go back to the BIOS setup by pressing F2.
  10. Select the Advanced menu, and then select PCI Configuration.
  11. In the next submenu, select UEFI Option ROM Control.
  12. Within the next screen, select the RAID Technology under the Storage Controller section.
  13. Select Virtual Drive Management.
  14. Select the Create Configuration option.
  15. Highlight the Select RAID Level option and choose RAID volume.
  16. Configure your RAID array accordingly, selecting the available drives in the configuration.
  17. Select the drives that will be used in the RAID array by pressing the space bar.
  18. Select the Apply Changes option. On the next screen, select OK.
  19. Make sure that Select Interface Type is correct; therefore, the drives can be seen.
  20. Save Configuration.
  21. Select Yes.
  22. Go back to the Main menu by pressing the Escape key, and then press F10 to save and exit.
