How to configure Raid 10 on HII/UEFI based Intel Server board

Description

I can not access the RAID configuration utility during boot to create Raid 10

Resolution

The Intel® Server Board S1200SPS uses Human Interface Infrastructure Configuration Utility (HII CU) when the boot mode is set to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface). This is why neither the Ctrl+G nor Ctrl+R and Ctrl+E or Ctrl+I are available in a pre-boot environment. To configure raid on Intel server board that uses HII CU, below are the steps.

1. Press F2 when system POST and enter system BIOS.
2. Go to Boot Maintenance Manager
3. Go to Advanced Boot Options
4. Under Boot Mode, select UEFI
5. Press F10 to save changes and reboot back to BIOS
6. Go to Advanced
7. Select Mass Storage Controller configuration
8. Select SATA Port Configuration
9. Under AHCI Capable SATA Controller, select RAID Mode
10. Under AHCI Capable RAID Options, select Intel ESRT2
11. Press F10 to save changes and reboot back to BIOS
12. Go to Advance
13. Go to PCI Configuration
14. Go to UEFI Option ROM Control
15. Scroll at the very bottom and you should see Storage Controller Intel Embedded Server Raid Technology 2, select this and press Enter
16. In the Configuration Option screen, select Virtual Drive Management
17. On the next screen select Create Configuration

To configure a Raid 10/50/60 proceed with the following steps

For Raid 10, use two drives
For Raid 50, use at least three drives
For Raid 60, use at least three drives

18. On the next screen, under Select Raid Level, select Raid 10
19. On the same screen, highlight Select Drives and press Enter
20. On the next screen, select the drives (make sure they have X mark on the box next to them) 21. Scroll at the bottom and select Apply change and press Enter
22. On the next screen, scroll down and select Save Configuration
23. Select Yes on the next screen.
24. Repeat step 20. From the drives that are available in the left pane, choose an additional group of drives and add the drives to the existing array.
