DNS Suffix Configuration Steps Required when Hub or Client Can't Detect the Enterprise Server for the Intel Unite® app
What is the purpose of this procedure?
You can force the DNS suffix and test the Intel Unite® app on Enterprise mode. Don't take these actions for a network environment that is configured correctly.
The Hub or Clients locate the Enterprise Server using DNS service during an automatic lookup for the Enterprise Server. The Intel Unite® app requires the DNS suffix to be recognized as a connection-specific DNS suffix.
How do I add the connection-specific DNS suffix manually using Windows® 10?
- Confirm that there isn't a connection-specific DNS suffix assigned on the Ethernet adapter:
- Add the connection-specific DNS suffix by configuring the network adapter. Go to Control Panel, search for Network and Internet, select Network and Sharing Center, and select Change adapter settings from the left-side menu.
- Select Ethernet properties and click Properties for Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Under the General tab, select Advanced. Click the DNS tab and add the DNS suffix for this connection manually.
