To set up a RAID-ready system, make sure the system includes a single Serial ATA hard drive and follow the procedures below:

  1. Enable RAID in system BIOS
  2. Install Intel® Rapid Storage Technology user interface

Enable RAID in system BIOS

Follow these steps to enable RAID in the system BIOS:

Note
  • These instructions are specific to Intel® Desktop Boards with a supported Intel® Chipset. Always follow the instructions included with your motherboard.
  • These instructions are for the RAID feature only and don't include complete steps for enabling system acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory.
  • If your PC already has a set up RAID configuration, make sure to contact your PC Manufacturer before modifying your current RAID set up. This will prevent data loss

Depending on your Intel Desktop Board model, enable RAID by following either of the steps below.

  1. Press F2 after the Power-On-Self-Test (POST) memory test begins.
  2. Select the Configuration menu, then the SATA Drives menu.
  3. Set the RAID Mode to RAID.
  4. Press F10 to save the BIOS settings and exit the BIOS Setup program.

OR

  1. Press F2 after the Power-On-Self-Test (POST) memory test begins.
  2. Select the Advanced menu, then the Drive Configuration menu.
  3. Set the Drive Mode option to Enhanced.
  4. Enable Intel® RAID Technology.
  5. Press F10 to save the BIOS settings and exit the BIOS Setup program.

 

Install Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface

Follow these steps to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface.

  1. Go to  Intel Rapid Storage Technology to download executable
  2. Download the version that matches your system requirements
  3. Run the executable.
